Join other film makers in the director's chair this summer for a blockbuster of epic proportions. In our totally redesigned workshop, film making crews will work together with a REAL film maker to story board, scriptwrite, location scout and shoot their original film in eye-catching HD. You’ll also learn how to green screen to create the most authentic films around! Once complete, crews will edit their movie on Final Cut Pro X and create an authentic movie trailer to advertise their film. All of the finished films may be shown on the big screen at Cineplex Theatres across Canada.

 Superman and Wonderwoman have some competition, as crews will also be putting together an authentic comic book, based on their own completely original ideas and starring themselves! Add voices, music and sound effects to make this an experience like no other!

Everyone knows the best parts of the movie are put into the trailer, so why not have a program where you only have the good parts? That's right, with the brand new Coming Soon To A Theatre Near You workshop, participants will create their very own movie trailers from footage they have filmed and edited themselves! Add music, sound effects and other cool additions to make your trailer the talk of Tinseltown!

Grab your stereo and crank it to 11 as the newest pop sensations hit the airwaves this summer. In our totally redesigned workshop, film making crews will work together with a REAL film maker to select their favourite song, and then story board, location scout and shoot their music videos in eye-catching HD. You’ll also learn how to green screen to create the most authentic music videos around! Once complete, crews will edit their music videos on Final Cut Pro X, so they can battle it out with the hottest bands for a spot on MTV.  All of the finished films may be shown on the big screen at Cineplex Theatres across Canada.

The film makers will create their own original characters out of clay, and then help bring them to life!  Everything from set design to scriptwriting will be covered, as the campers are treated to the full Hollywood experience. Once complete, crews will edit their movie on Final Cut Pro X and create an authentic movie trailer to advertise their film. All of the finished films may be shown on the big screen at Cineplex Theatres across Canada.

You will become the digital author of your very own interactive story book.  Learn angles for taking digital pictures, import your pictures and then edit them to creating an exciting adventure.  Once complete, you go Hollywood and turn your story into a truly “moving experience”....  Photos move before your eyes and with the help of transitions, special effects, music, sound effects and your own voice, your own live action story book comes to life!  Special guest celebrity appearances in your book include…. WHO YOU WANT TO BE!

Girls, get ready for your close-up! The Director’s Cut proudly presents Girl Power, an innovative workshop that lets girls unleash their creative and imaginative side through the power of movie making. These budding directors will focus on themes important to them, including friendship, music, fashion, bullying and positive self-image portrayals. Working in small groups, students will use the latest digital cameras and MacBook computers to write, film and produce a unique film that is for girls by girls!
