Breakout With the Director’s Cut

	You are invited to make a difference!  Breakout! with Directors Cut uses the tools and videos from the celebrated CBC series, Breakout!  to help you create your own videos about global awareness.  Highly produced mini documentaries shot in Kenya, Rwanda, Nigeria, Peru, India, are the springboard to get you started.  Learn about global issues that affect young people around the world and create your own media messages to show that you care. Breakout! with Directors Cut is offered in partnership with Breakout Media(http://www.breakoutonline .ca) which provides a range of curriculum resources that link with current media literacy and civic responsibility curriculum as well as curricula from Social Science, Math, Geography, Science and Art for grades 5-10.  Included with this workshop are episodes of the show on DVD as well as a comprehensive curriculum package with assessments and evaluations.   After your students are familiar with the material, a media workshop with Director’s Cut will give them to opportunity to make their own videos about the chosen issue.
